Proud to fight for working people as the Representative for Rhode Island's Second Congressional District.

AI companies can accept secret money from drug companies to influence medical advice given to you, with no transparency. That must change. I wrote a letter calling on the FTC to require chatbots and search engines to disclose sponsorships with companies that influence answers in real-time.

Making sure federal agencies are responsive to constituents is one of my top priorities. Just ask Thalia from Charleston. After two years of delays from the IRS, my office helped her secure a $5k tax refund. If you ever need help, give my office a call at 401-244-1201.

If you’re wondering why it’s harder for working people to get ahead, this is why: 34 Americans now control 12 percent of all U.S. national income. And they are actively rigging the political system to serve themselves. We have to fight back.

The richest 34 Americans now control $2.6 trillion in wealth, equivalent to 12% of U.S. national income. This is the worst wealth concentration in U.S. history.

The new $76.6 billion Navy contract for submarine construction is fantastic for our state and for our country. This will support thousands of jobs in the Ocean State, and keep Rhode Island at the forefront of our nation’s defense industry.

Flooding has been a problem in Rhode Island for a long time. I’ve worked to deliver more than $50 million to reduce flooding in Cranston, Johnston and West Warwick, and I will keep working to improve quality of life for all Rhode Islanders.

Enjoyed attending a ribbon cutting ceremony and tour at the Rhode Island State Police’s new Southern Public Safety Complex. This facility includes a new training center that will give Troopers the skills and knowledge they need to keep Rhode Island safe.

Mifepristone is birth control that has been safely prescribed for decades. Now, extreme politicians are trying to take it away. I'm joining a brief to the Supreme Court challenging these attacks on women’s health care and to keep this safe, effective medication on the market where it belongs.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of former East Providence Mayor Dr. Izzy Ramos. Izzy was a trailblazer and beloved to Rhode Islanders and we will not forget the difference he made. I am sending my condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Since last July, 1.5 million children have lost SNAP benefits due to Republican cuts. Yet Washington always seems to find money for war and tax cuts for billionaires. Unacceptable. It's time to end the corruption and self-dealing and start passing laws that put people first.

Today is Bay Day! Today we celebrate the beauty of Narragansett Bay and everything it has to offer. I hope you have the opportunity to get outside and enjoy Rhode Island's incredible beaches today. Parking and RIPTA rides to state beaches are FREE!

My entire life, politicians have sent other people’s children to die in wars in the Middle East. The American people are tired of it. This week, I voted to pass a second resolution calling for an end to the unnecessary war in Iran. It is long past time to end the war.

New endorsement alert for my PTO Act: the U.S. Tour Operators Association ✅ The momentum is growing. Guaranteeing paid vacation for every full-time worker is good for people and also good for business. It's time to make paid vacation the law.

The Trump Administration admitted it is purposely making energy more expensive in states that voted for Kamala Harris by canceling grants for energy projects. This is wrong and illegal, and will probably cost them control of Congress in November.

President Trump ran on bringing manufacturing jobs back to America. Instead, he is focused on building ballrooms and erecting new monuments while our country has lost 75,000 manufacturing jobs. Working people deserve better.

Trump claimed his tariffs would bring about a golden age of American manufacturing. Yet since his re-election, we've lost 75,000 manufacturing jobs. Over the same time period, Biden had created 625,000.

On this day in 2009, the minimum wage increased to $7.25 an hour. It has not gone up since. Workers in America are struggling enough to make ends meet. It is past time we increased the minimum wage to match inflation and deliver some fairness to workers.

Had great conversations with members of Ironworkers Local 37 at their meeting tonight. I am continuing to fight for the funding to repair our roads and bridges, our electric grids and our ports, but it will be the members of Local 37 that really turn these projects into a reality.
