ooc. I have knocked out a few replies before I head out. I am so sorry I've been so absent! I still owe about 9 replies! Hang tight I'll get to them soon! Promise!
Aerith tilted her head slightly as Cloud’s voice pulled her attention away from the soft sway of the flowers around them.
Aerith blinked at Lightning for a moment, clearly surprised by the immediate refusal, then softened almost at once as understanding settled in.
hours, and she couldn’t come to any different outcomes. So, in this case, if she can prevent it, she will. And right now, part of that is getting away as fast as humanly possible. ❛ Least I can do for using your church as a makeshift resting place, amongst the rest of your help. ❜
Aerith listened without interrupting. When Cloud asked why, her gaze lowered to the lilies between them, fingertips absentmindedly brushing across a white petal.
he swore he’d been thrown back into that incident were many. “…Only good thing is he’s gone.” Or, Cloud tried to convince himself of this. What he’d seen after blowing up a mako reactor for Avalanche indicated otherwise. It troubled him— and caused himself to feel uncertain. Was it an illusion?
Aerith's heart lurched the instant he whispered her name. "Cloud..." Relief flickered across her face, brief but real. He was still there. Beneath the pain, beneath the whispers and the weight crushing down on him, he was still fighting.
It was as if he’s there, standing on the opposite side to Aerith. Good and evil trying to fight for control. And yet - Sephiroth isn’t actually there. Only Aerith.
Aerith's laughter rang as bright as the afternoon sun, her eyes crinkling with genuine delight. "A guard dog?" she echoed, feigning deep thought as she tilted her head. "Hmm... I like the sound of that but I was thinking more an overexcited puppy."
The SOLDIER said confidently, a nod to bookend the thought. “Zack and Aerith's Search for the Biggest Flower Field Out There! Sounds good, right?”

The question caught Aerith completely off guard. For a moment, she simply stared at him. The smile she'd been wearing faded, replaced by something quieter. Sadder.
He’d sit by the patch of flowers after resting the buster sword on the floorboards nearby, legs crossing and arms behind himself, propping his form up while leaning back ever so slightly.
Aerith glanced over her shoulder, green eyes sparkling with mischief as she spotted the growing collection of bags in his hands. For a moment, she looked entirely innocent. Then a smile tugged at her lips.
— gripped in one hand. Two paper bags of her groceries in another. His brow twitched slightly. Embarrassed, annoyed, it was hard to tell on his face. “So help me understand. Why am I following you from store to store again?”
A small squeak of surprise come from her before her arms find a spot around his neck. "You know I never argue if it means getting to spend some time with you."
Scooping her up. "You do too, so I'll borrow all your attention for a bit yeah little Ms. Devil~?"
"You kind of do, but I think it's a nice look for you!" She teased softly. At the mention of the fish and campfire cooking, her green eyes lit up. "Oooh! Now I can hardly wait for tonight!"
"Since you like home cooking. Campfire might have to do."
"I know you'd like it if you joined me!" she laughed a little, leaning her head back against his shoulder enough to look up at his face.
"This... isn't so bad." He muttered, cold water lapping at his shorts but her warm back nestling into his chest.
She nods, her hands finding a place behind her back. "I like watching when they get super into a game of balls."
He waded over too, hands resting on his hips, elbows bent as he looked over the scene. "Hey Aerith. You all look like you're having a good time."
She pouts a little but it quickly becomes a smile. "I suppose, if you say it like that, it is a good trade."
Snickering as he sways back from the shove! "Maaaaybe! You tease me plenty too though. It's a nice little tradeoff hm?"
ooc. I owe so much I'm going to start with small form and then move to the long form replies I owe and see what I can clear out
Her face turns as red as her jacket and for a moment she stumbles over her words, unable to speak. "I....I....y-yes it looks great...." Internally she is panicking. That grin melts her.
Leeeeeeaaning in. "Does it? Do you liiiike it~?" Amused grin in place.
