Just "Mal" is fine.

#godot #gamedev I think I've found a method to build levels that I like (it's really bootleg), I just wanted to test what a 3D level might look like. I still need to fix some things, but I think I can otherwise take a break from this side project now.

M

#godot #gamedev something I work on when I'm not working on rocket, this is the 3rd iteration, all I really did was port some of rocket's physics logic & translate them to 3D, easier said than done though... It's still a bit janky, but honestly I don't think it will ever not be janky at least a bit

M

#godot #gamedev #tool it was tough, but I managed to add undo/redo functionality into it, this project is basically finished now, not that it can't be improved/include more features, but basically everything I wanted now exists...mostly

M

#godot #gamedev #tool It's very bootleg, but I've added erasing & rotation, this was always meant to be a personal use tool so it's fine if it's a bit jank I guess, as long as I understand it. I really wanted a proper preview of what block Im about to place but I can't currently, oh well...

M

#godot #gamedev I wanted to build an asset placer that behaved kinda like minecraft, so I did. The way current 3d level design tools are now never quite meshed with me, though, it's possible there's something like this out there & I havent looked hard enough... still though, it was fun making :D

M

dragonfly enemies, I gave them a glowing tail because I thought it was cool mostly, I wanted them to act kinda like bullet bills the floor is an asset for a future stage I was working on recently, it's not visible here but I was experimenting with making slopes #gamedev #indiedev #godot #pixelart

M

I found out you can use the line2d node in godot to make some nifty tube sprites, if I can find a way to save them as a png that would really help out in pixel art

twirl challenge, I originally wanted to use spikes with more floors but I found it to probably be either a bit too hard for first time players or a bit too easy with damage boosting+less layers, so I compromised with springs, I think they work well for now, maybe next time #godot #gamedev #indiedev

M

I made 3 new signs, one for pits, spikes, and sliding respectively, I don't know if im going to use the last one but at least it's there im not entirely sure if it's necessary, but my hope is that they serve as a heads up when moving fast, it's hard to know whats ahead in 2D in this game #gamedev

M

I've added arrows to help telegraph when to jump, it's not necessary when going slow, but when going fast it really helps imo, I want this level to be a bit more platformy but keep speed/flow in mind, I hope this isn't too hand holdy... #gamedev #godot

Originally, "ROCKET!!" was going to be a different game, but I couldn't quite make it yet due to my lack of experience, then it became something else beyond even that, but I didn't like it & decided to go with what I was going to do before that again.

M

The more features I add, the more complicated things get, I began adding a time trial mode, it works but it's still a little buggy & Im not sure why, I dont know if it'll be in this next demo...
