66 specis in my VC29 garden trap this morning but the trap was full of hundreds of Harpalus rufipes. No moths of real note. #teammoth

Of the 99 species in my nature reserve (VC29) this morning one stood out, this beast of a striped hawkmoth - 2/2 #teammoth
51 species in the garden this morning (VC29) plenty of moths mostly common wainscots and small mottled willows. A few nice species White spotted pinion, 3 marbled clovers and Broad barred white the pick #teammoth
Moth trapping at Bolberry Down (VC3) was challenging with strong wind and driving rain hampering proceedings only 50 species but we did get a rather nice Devonshire Wainscot at the last knockings. With @alanlewiswildlife.bsky.social Alan lewis and @saturdaycatbird.bsky.social

A bit late for #wildflowerhour – A recent visit to the check on the Fen Ragwort which was mostly over, but generally it appears to be doing well considering the very dry conditions locally
A bit late for #wildflowerhour - I found a few bits surviving in the scorched Brecks - the Proliferous Pink was stunning
This Granulated Ground Beetle was in the moth trap in my nature reserve yesterday, a cracking beetle
A quick hour in the Brecks yesterday mainly for Shieldbugs (5sp) and Ladybirds (3sp)
Some weekend mothing up North - in VC64 - Least Minor only (Day) and VC70 - Haworth's Minor in a haul of over 90 species, and many I don't see locally a nice weekend of moths #teammoth
Hardly any moths in my garden (VC29) this morning 45 species , vapourer was the pick until I spotted this small marbled, pretty much the last moth in the trap, which made ut worth the effort #teammoth
