I've learned recently that a second volume of the book "Freedom Rhythm & Sound - Revolutionary Jazz Original Cover Art" had been published. Here are the 2 volumes along with Soul Jazz Records' excellent compilation (2 x 2 LP) "Freedom Rhythm & Sound - Revolutionary Jazz & The Civil Rights Movement"

I love 60s John Coltrane bootlegs… This one, recorded in Europe in 1962, is titled "Blue Train Live On Mount Meru (Volume One)" and Coltrane is not even credited. The other members of the classic quartet are. This copy does not even have the colored cover registered in Cogs.

I haven't really had the time to process the news of Abdullah Ibrahim's passing so I'm pulling out my collection of his albums and picking a few records to listen to on this sunny and hot afternoon. Mannenberg and now The Journey on the turntable. Great stuff! RIP 💔

#NowPlaying Herbe Rouge (S.C.O.P.A./Invisible Records, France 1978). Herbe Rouge was part of the "Rock Music Liberation Front" (Front de Libération de la Rock-Music) with other French groups like Komintern or Lard Free. Great French prog with a touch of madness !
