That’s me done until Monday. Tomorrow I am heading off to one of my favourite places in the UK to catch the last bit of Whitby Folk Week. Looking forward to catching up with performers and friends alike 😁 Next year I hope to go for the full week.

R.I.P. Tim Curry. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was THE film in my younger era. Still a favourite. I have seen it at the theatre a couple of times too.
My heart goes out to all those killed, missing and affected by the devastation.. just heartbreaking 💔. Nepal is a country close to my heart - have visited there on two occasions. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c6...
Hundreds missing, including 291 foreign tourists, after deadly flash flood on Nepal-Tibet border
In Tibet, CCTV captured a wall of mud and water hitting a border crossing. The missing in Nepal include more than 100 from India and 12 from the UK.

Lovely meal out with my son, daughter in law and grandson.. the best ( and biggest!) steak pie I have ever had..and the best “ doggy bags” ever 😂 Tomorrow’s tea sorted! 😁😋
Good to hear Tim Walker play a song from the soon to be released album from SpellSongs just now on his folk show. And as Tim said, what a folk supergroup. Excited to be going to see them in Sheffield next month. Will be magic! ♥️
As I let my hair colourant do its job, I am jotting down my cooking/meal plans for the coming week. Much easier this time as I am eating out tomorrow evening then from Thursday I am away 😁
Simple and very tasty light Sunday lunch. Tempura fish. Tenderstem broccoli with a cheddar cheese/pink peppercorn/mustard seed sauce. Scrummy 😋
1/3 What a beautiful haul of #naturesgifts 😁 Resting up mostly today as the next 6 days are a bit bonkers but it is a gorgeous day and had to go out anyway. And a daily walk is essential of course♥️ After posting off parcels and dropping another charity bag off, I wandered on a 2 mile circuit..
I am really on a roll at mo. Clearing out my wardrobe/drawers. Sold a load of stuff online and used the proceeds to build myself a new autumn/winter wardrobe - got some fab (all new/unworn) bargains! It is a great way to do it and easy peasy too 🙌
Had a lovely, relaxing few hours out with @anniehornerglis.bsky.social A bit of holiday clothes shopping, a few foodie buys and a couple of other nice things that caught my eye 😁The coffee and raspberry/coconut slice in the cafe was rather good 😋
Love a Saturday morning. Still up at my usual time but no alarm going off. An extra couple of hours to enjoy a lazy, hearty breakfast, cuppa in garden and no rush to get showered/dressed. Looking forward to visiting somewhere new this morning which will no doubt include nice coffee.😁☕️🛍️
Not a bad first little haul 😁🍅🌶️ Many, many more of both to come. Will make batches of passata for the freezer as will never eat all the tomatoes 😂 Love chillies, use them a lot in my cooking. Will dry some to make flakes and they freeze well too. Prepping will keep me busy 😁 #growyourown
Healthy tea enjoyed. Needed a protein boost after a fair bit of physical activity/exercise this week. Good Omega 3 top up too. Rye/seeded sourdough toast (no butter), mashed avocado and sardines. Lemon juice, chilli flakes and fresh parsley from my garden to season. Delish 😋
Decidedly chilly this morning despite the sunshine. And it is Friday.🙌 I am well ready for a weekend chill. 😁
The good spells of rain we’ve had here means I have had a break from lugging my watering can around the garden every night. However, with the rain/wind, my patio was covered in leaves and debris so just been out sweeping /bagging it all up. My poor back ha 😖 🍂🍂🧹🧹🍁🍁 #alwayssomethingtodo
Just caught up with Mark Radcliffe’s Folk Show on BBC Sounds from last night. Feel very lucky that I have seen, going to see or seeing again the majority of the featured artists on his show. Wonderful stuff 🥰 🎶🎻🪈🪗🥁🎸
Just taken the bins out at work and this cute little shield bug was on top of one 😁
Productive morning already and haven’t even started work yet. Parcel sent off, a bill paid, bag dropped off at charity bin. Oh, and collected lottery win from last night. A quid! 😂 …can’t retire on that windfall can I? 🤣🙄 - will try not to spend it all at once 😂
Going to 3 of these gigs.. so many fab venues/artists ♥️
Here's a reminder of events in the next 2 weeks and a look at what I have so far in the guide for September. There's a 3rd Thursday singing session at the Hallamshire House pub, Commonside this week as normal, 7.30PM. 4th Sunday session at Kelham Island Tav has moved to the 5th Sunday, 30th Aug.
That’s freshened things up a bit ♥️ A short lived thunderstorm/rain shower.
Cracking nuts is so satisfying ha (ripened a few foraged hazlenuts at home). Crushed them with pistachios and the last of my foraged walnuts from last autumn. They’ll make a nice healthy addition to my breakfast porridge 😁🌰
1/2 As today is #WorldPhotographyDay, thought I would share this photo. It is one I am very proud of as it is a once in a lifetime capture. I remember it all so clearly. I was sat on a low wall watching the hirundines gathering on the wires before their end of summer migration. Out of nowhere…
1/2 Booked on this history tour in September😁- we have often said we would like to know more (been to gigs at the Samuel Worth Chapel which sits in the heart of the cemetery). After the tour/tea somewhere we are going to The Greystones to see the fabulous Ranagri ( for the 6th time-love them ♥️)
Just gently relocated this humungous arachnid.. it ran between my feet whilst i was in the utility room at work…didn’t half make me jump 😂😂
Cloudier and cooler this morning. Lots of much needed rain overnight.
Whoop! First of this year’s homegrown (from seed) tomatoes. I have about 40 on their way to ripeness 🙌 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅
