Today marks 6 months since we launched our free footage platform, OpenJournalism.Network. From the very beginning of this project — back when we were using Canva-owned platforms — it's been very clear that there is a huge demand for the kind of footage we provide.
Gen Z was really proud of the impact of they had in the 2024 Bangladesh protests. One of the most memorable murals said: “The generation that watched Minions growing up changed the country” We wanted to help cover this historic moment. So we’ve published free-to-use (with attribution) footage.

Over the course of the training, journalists tried out more than 10 tools. They explored how these tools can be used in written, audio, video and data formats.
