Today marks 6 months since we launched our free footage platform, OpenJournalism.Network. From the very beginning of this project — back when we were using Canva-owned platforms — it's been very clear that there is a huge demand for the kind of footage we provide.
Gen Z was really proud of the impact of they had in the 2024 Bangladesh protests. One of the most memorable murals said: “The generation that watched Minions growing up changed the country” We wanted to help cover this historic moment. So we’ve published free-to-use (with attribution) footage.
This week, Bangladesh is heading into its first election since student protests led to the overthrow of the government in 2024. To make it easier for journalists to tell global stories, we’ve published over 100 free-to-use clips from Dhaka. Check it out: www.openjournalism.network/packages/ban...
