I've never read any Jane Austen before so decided to put that right by picking up Sense and Sensibility. I've now finished the 1st part of 3. The phraseology of early 19th century writing is cumbersome and not so easy to follow imo so it's not particularly enjoyable but I'll plough on to the end.

This is worth 3 minutes of your time ... beautiful, awe inspiring, heart warming.
And now, a little Vivaldi. Michel Tirabosco, a renowned pan flute player, collaborating with Raphaël Froissart. He is a professor at the Geneva Conservatory. Born with physical differences, he began playing the pan flute at 7 and has achieved international recognition for his skill. #streetmusic
It looks like Lady Penelope and Parker are driving past for those of you familiar with Thunderbirds.
Publicity drawing for Forton services on the M6 near Lancaster, 1963.
Bad move, definitely not in favour.
It's time for training ⏰👊
I see that the long rumoured sponsorship with Betway is now official and their name will appear on training kits across all levels. I don't think the gambling industry needs any more exposure than it already commands, quite the opposite. I'd rather we didn't associate with the industry.
Let this be a spur for significant numbers of national associations to do the same. He has to go and procedures need to be put in place urgently to prevent this happening again in future.
Wales become first nation to drop support for Fifa president Gianni Infantino
Marc Skinner departs "by mutual consent". Why wasn't this decided at the end of last season? Is it due to a difference of opinion over key decisions in this transfer window, both incoming and outgoing? Not sorry to see him go, but the new appointee might give clues over the team's near future.
5 hours hedge cutting, looks a lot tidier and a lovely day for it but I'll probably feel it tomorrow.
The tempo in the 2nd half dropped and Atletico came into it more for a period. An entertaining game, good workout, some good interplay.
I thought that they all played well this afternoon, several caught my eyes ... Dorgu, Santos, Yoro at right back, Lacey, Shaw, Heaven and Mount.
Winners of the Snapdragon Cup. @maritstensby.bsky.social I'll see you on the open top bus soon for the parade. 🤣
Mbeumo and Santos off for JJ Gabriel and Jim Thwaite on 81.
Jack Fletcher intercepts and crosses for Mbeumo to bundles in the rebound. 2 - 1
Atletico have had much more of the play in the 2nd half. Good save by Heaton on 71. Changes galore on 72 minutes.
Mbeumo equalises from the spot on 52 minutes after Lacey is brought down.
Maguire's getting plenty of wrestling practice in too. 😂
Yoro and Heaven have had 3 opportunities between them but have yet to hit the target. Shaw had another shot deflected wide. Oblak's been busy, Heaton not called upon until the 43rd minute.
Trailing by 1 at the break, but dominating overall and unlucky not to be at least on level terms.
Shea Lacey cross which Mbeumo heads just wide of the far post. Prior to that, Luke Shaw tested Oblak again from an acute angle. I wasn't sure whether it was intended as a cross or a shot.
Amad free kick takes a deflection which almost beats Oblak on his line.
Great strike by Luke Shaw from Mount's cross. Had it not been straight at Oblak, we'd have been level.
Tories in 5th place behind Labour, Reform, Greens and Restore in the Greater Manchester Mayoral election 1st round votes. Combined Reform and Restore votes of 158,217 (29.67%) of 533,326 votes cast is a major concern. Labour way in front on 251,449 (47.15%).
No conclusive winner in the 1st round of voting for the Greater Manchester mayor so it's a run off between Bev Craig of Labour and Sian Astley of Reform UK from the 2nd votes ... but why don't 2nd votes count for anyone who voted for either candidate?
There's a neighbourhood cat who's taken to using my garden as its 💩. I think I have identified the culprit, a lovely little thing 2 doors down, but this habit is repulsive. I've sprinkled some Jeyes fluid around this afternoon to see if that's any deterrent. Definitely smells much nicer than cat 💩.
Dirty tactics campaign imminent from FIFA.
New AFC statement.
Netanyahu and his Gvt agreeing to a peace deal? Even with a vice like grip on all their gonads, that's not going to happen with any realistic prospect of being upheld. They'll just carry on with the genocide and land grab as and when it pleases them.
With UEFA and CONCACAF, 96 member associations oppose FIFA's proposal, still 10 below the 50% +1 majority required to reject it. Can FIFA's charm offensive and assurances of a proper consultation enable them to win sufficient favour to proceed? They'll try all the tricks in the book. Stand firm!
