I am an artist with the intent to be one and an attention span to prevent it. In these unsettling days, however, it seems easier to hunker down and adhere to the principle of art creation. Please check out my Etsy shop: etsy.com/shop/MAOlssonIllustrated
I'm getting to know gouache, with its remarkable opaque quality. It's quite the learning curve, but fun🌞
A good thing to do of a Sunday morning is to practice medieval illumination. So much thought seems to go into it, which is unusual for me!
This is all about the new olive green ink I bought. It's the best color!
The finished drawing, yay! I don't know whose photo I drew from, but I drew inspiration from him for sure!
So, in trolling through all the naked men pics I've found one image that works perfectly with a series of drawings I'm planning. All I have to do now is find this man and get him to do a bunch of other poses!
Now working on editing the scan of page 100 of the graphic novel, leaving only 16 pages more to go, hurrah!
This guy is getting a refresh! I'm removing the old varnish from this Danish 1896 painting. Details that were obscured by the dirty discolored varnish have reappeared. It's fun to see them pop up again!
Here's a drawing of the protagonist in a graphic novel I'm working on!
It's drivin' around time, the joys of Monday afternoon!
Throwing a few different inks together without blending them. Such a Sunday thing to do!
A wee linocut from some years ago. In going through all this older material I think I'm trying to work up energy to do more stuff, which has been lacking lately. Angst in these times, I blame everything on that, yeah!
This is an ink and watercolor from around 2012 or so. I had forgotten about it, but it's time to share it again😃 I call it the Organization of the Visible Heavens. Over the top maybe, but it works for me!
