leesburg weather report disaster weekly writing: https://demon5equal10birth5day3equal8.substack.com/

today:s yuri jam reading was solipcyst but i got filtered by the puzzle game aspect; i really liked the writing at the start, though, but i:m not sure what to do about it -- i:m too darn dumb to figure out the puzzle game

today:s Toxic Yuri VN Jam read is The Angel Factory — 엔젤 팩토리 by gravity-house on itch; out of every jam i:ve read through i think this is the best executed 'denpa' story handedly, reminded me of Soundless at times; only VN to make me laugh because of an FFXI reference; it:s either my 2nd or 3rd fav

[Fan TL] Kamaitachi no Yoru is out A translation of the Super Famicom version from the team behind Otogirisou. Some aspects of this version remain unique to it. AI wasn't used at all This is the third translation of the murder mystery sound novel developed by Chunsoft

finished M0ther//B04rd as part of my regular toxic yuri VN jam reading; really really felt the authors of this one truly /loved/ the VN as a medium, and that love shows in the craft of it; think this was the best execution of the "toxic yuri" theme out of everything so far, i liked it

Bild

had a lot of fun last night reading apollo:s angels, felt so driven by it i immediately started writing again before bed; feet burning from soaking in simple green; i hated the article but i really liked helen dewitt using Cracking Up to describe herself, i:m cracking up with how sad i am lately

Bild

thought i:d take a break from reading vns because tired of drawing things, ended up starting motherboard anyways -- first time reading so far a game made me go "this person has played a lot of VNs" (good way, they get the medium); bought nonfic prompted by 2-4 94 for research, arrived; started fetch

4x4 collage of reading diary; MY TOP FOUR: 2-4 '94, contact wound, eighth heaven, two kinds of people; as a stand alone merit-of-story-only contact wound would be my favorite; offer still stands for my monthly blog post: if you worked on vncup and want access to my paywall blog i:ll fork it over

day 15/16 (bonus? last one for the month) toxic yuri vn jam reading: "rot with me" by bird-king on itch; first instance in my jam reading of a description of organs being displaced and falling down to fill the absence left: neat; this was the only one so far that used multiple endings to a benefit

Bild

yestertoday:s (i had to sleep) toxic yuri vn jam reading is "only you" by squidosheep on itch; the ending to this one is really cute; think this is my mental-tally of the third entry so far that felt like a cute dynastyscans yuri plot; sometimes you just need to be called a whore, --but with heart

Bild

bothered all morning trying to remember a book; something about a boy(?) in like the 80s(?) who controls this invisible(?) creature monster lizard bear(?) thing that i think was phallic and used it to hurt people; like some ballantine books era pulp thing w/ a funny cover of said monster(?) screamin

day fourteen (?) of daily toxic yuri VN jam reading is "TACHYCARDIA LOVERGIRL" by kiakitty on itch; admire this one for how well it uses the medium, not everyone has an intuitive 'feel' for how vn's use pacing/sound to texture their (well..) text but the ppl here are great at it; pretty neat

Bild

day thirteen of Toxic Yuri VN Jam reading is "My Lady's Last Flight" by LynYellow on itch; a traditional romance where a young mistress who frequently quotes Trailer Park Boy's Ray but switches his lines around to be "the young lady in the chair"; refreshingly sweet read all things considered

Bild

another janitorial job done; my back hurts; my feet are soaked with degreaser; time to read VNs; at times i feel really beautiful with myself for being an aging old 30s janitor and at times it feels like i:m just watching life dissolve me down into more ugly nothingness every further minute

Bild

today's daily toxic yuri vn jam read is "a lady's pyre"; this one has a really cool opening, and i:m pretty sure is the first entry i:ve read that had a little animatic opening sequence; i really think stuff like that is ultra important for VNs cause it:s like the salesman foot in door tactic READ

Bild

sick today, still have my VN reading done, but i need new shoes; realized i have a big hole in one of my shoes, and i only have the one pair; was really happy to see the grim dawn dlc come out, i like grim dawn more than d2 i think; fiend folio update early next month, too: that:s a happy thing, too

day 11 (i keep messing the number up) of toxic yuri vn jam reading: eighth heaven by threetare; great title! really love the name! it:s a great number! reminded me a lot of my favorite vn, 2236 AD, in all the ways i like: plot, background, and especially the ost; really liked this one a lot

Bild

day 9 of daily toxic yuri vn jam reading is "toxic shock syndrome" by nxcromantik on itch; more writing by the person who wrote "walk in the sun" my favorite vncup story; loved the mood in this one, it:s the first entry that felt like a Classical Dynastyscans yuri story, wished it was longer though

Bild

day 9 of reading toxic yuri vn jam entries: "lingering taste of oil" by indecisiv on itch this time; the first entry with multiple endings and a gameplay element; also, so far, the most traditional structure, but surprised me a bit by not having ero scenes; still only one that had explicit ero stuff

Bild

today:s toxic yuri vn jam read: "contact wound" by summertriangle on itch; the writing really amazed me with this one and it uses sound very well too; just a very solid story that reminded me of gunslinger girl; brains getting popped till the body can:t do anything but be a little number station

Bild

day 7 is "two kinds of people" by lacunova on itch; i really loved this one, i:m not completely sure what happened during the plot but it just has the type of writing and atmosphere that made me feel really excited for the experience, and kept me feeling that way till the end; vacuumed carpet vibes

Bild

still barely any sleep; back to VN reading -- it:s my day off; i have a bunch pre-downloaded and extracted into a folder for the jam, and unless someone specifically requests me to read, i just pick one at random; picked "tkop-1.0-pc" this morning and it:s like i found a really nice piece of candy
