The Constitution says “We the People,” not “under God.” “One Nation Under God” was added in the 1950s, not by the Founders. Religious freedom means the government stays neutral, not that it favors one faith or uses religion as a political weapon.

Pay attention to this. The purpose of these investigations is not just to manufacture evidence to support Trump’s 2020 “voter fraud” accusations, but also to set the stage for another round of efforts to suppress votes and delegitimize election results in 2026 (which the GOP is likely to lose).

The GSS just dropped new data this week. Here's an interesting shift over the past 10 years. Among Americans as a whole, fewer say that being a Christian is "very/fairly important" to being truly American. But Republicans actually *increased* in that view, reflecting the hard ethno-nationalist turn.
