story writer. AI anti. making anime-aligned works influenced by a love of pretty prose (aka the least marketable writing of all time). bluespheres.moe Read 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘔𝘺 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘦!➡️: https://tinyurl.com/spacepri

Maybe I'm the one who's wrong for this, but amateur authors switching between tenses willy-nilly—either from chapter to chapter or, worse, paragraph to paragraph—is one of the things that I just can't tolerate.

Thanks to Prufock on Honeyfeed (www.honeyfeed.fm/u/27458/novels), I now have a shiny new slide deck for promoting 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘔𝘺 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘦! You can still vote for one more week! Voting link➡️: novelous.go.link/cyPPT Read the web novel ➡️: tinyurl.com/spacepri

Not me wondering why finding the narrative voice for this new project is so hard and then realizing it's because the last two I've gone have been first-person and extremely verbose third-person, neither of which fit what I'm doing now.

Hi, everyone! I'm excited to announce that 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘔𝘺 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘦! is a finalist in the MAL x Honeyfeed Writing Contest 2026 in the romcom category! To celebrate, here's an alt cover feat. art from the amazing @/mikkamenoyoru. myanimelist.net/featured/2416

Third draft of this novellete I started back in 2024 is now complete. Looking forward to editing the hell out of it (much needed when the average sentence length looks like... that).

I've been pondering a bit this week, as I've been in the weeds of heavy second/third draft editing of a novelette I hope to submit to a spec fic mag, whether I actually want to be the type of writer who revises and edits stories in an attempt to adequately polish them for publishers/readers.

I uploaded a short-ish (or longish, depending on your criteria) post-writing reflection/log to my website about what I learned about inspiration and influence while writing 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘔𝘺 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘦! Check it out if you like! bluespheres.moe/content/logs...

Book cover for the web novel, Despite My Fear of Heights, the Space Princess Still Loves Me! by marble. On it, a blue-haired anime girl in a mint green jacket holds a striped planet with rings toward the viewer.

Some days when I'm writing, I genuinely wonder if things would be going as well if I wasn't using Scrivener instead of Word like I used to. The way it works fits my brain and the way I write SO WELL. (Note: This is not an ad, I'm literally just having a good morning of writing lol)

I don't think writers should be allowed to have their characters taking "steadying breaths" anymore. If your characters would be drunk by the end of the book if they were taking a steadying swig of whiskey instead of steadying breaths, they're breathing too much.

REPORT: Anime-Aligned Writer Who Has Literary Fiction Prosaic Tendencies Can't Hold It Back Anymore and Ends Up Writing the End of a Light Novel Chapter Like It's a Hibike! Euphonium Episode, Bemoans Fate

Sometimes you get an idea for a space cyberpunk soccer story and spend an afternoon writing a couple scenes so you have something to remind you what the idea was all about when you finally have time to come back to it in 7 years.

Slowly working my way back into writing form after the vacation into holiday's combo. It's very silly that finally solidifying the first antagonist's magic is what's given me the jump start I was looking for.
