PUBLISHING BLOG: My 126th Public Collectors publication feels finished. It's called "Who Are Your Neighbors" and it's a a self-assessment tool to help you gauge your awareness of your neighbors and how deeply connected you are to the people that live on your block. It'll be ready in early October.

Highlight of Riot Fest day 2 is Social Distortion going five minutes over to play a song about immigrant rights and making a statement against white nationalism right before Morrissey’s set, which had been bumped up to play early because of the weather.

ICE agents, still being violent and doing illegal shit, as usual. Vile.

Today at the Broadview ICE facility outside Chicago: Dozens of ICE agents violently confronted protesters, deploying chemical irritants on the crowd. Multiple people were injured. No arrests were observed.

I'm opposed to Riot Fest happening in a public park and sad that the rain and mud will even further destroy Douglass Park more than the fest usually does. I just saw today's schedule and they are ending early. This means Morrissey only has 45 minutes to say something racist. PiL's set is 20 minutes!

PUBLISHING BLOG: Because I only have a million things to do, I decided to start a new zine. I might ask a couple people to help write it with me because I think it would benefit from some extra input. I will be sure to ask people who are also spread extremely thin so I can compromise them too.

Question for police abolitionists: Do you ever go to community safety meetings that include police? There have been a string of sexual assaults close to where I live and the victims need support, but sharing space with cops at community meetings organized by the Alder makes me very uncomfortable.

PUBLISHING BLOG: Tip: Write the name of what is in a box of publications on the side of the box if they start piling up. I just discovered about 175 copies of a publication that I reprinted because I thought it was out of print. They were in an unlabeled box. Oops!

Today! Sunday Sept. 13th is your final day to see my show at Coming Soon on 3701 W. Division Street: “Protest Grim Reapers and other publications.” There are about 100 Public Collectors publications to see. Open from 11 AM - 2 PM. At noon, Jen Blair will give a brief reading, followed by me.

POSTAL BLOG: I just found an old USPS Large flat rate Priority box from 2013 in my basement. The interior dimensions are 12" x 12" x 8.5". You know how big they are now? 12" x 11.75" x 5.5". That's some fuckin' shrinkflation right there!

PUBLISHING BLOG: today is that special day that happens about once a month, where I putter around waiting impatiently for UPS to deliver a new publication. 500 new Public Collectors booklets coming very soon!

I like self-publishing more than I like putting on events because publications always find an audience, but it doesn't have to be at a specific date and time, and in a specific place. It just needs to happen, eventually, and if it takes months or years for 300 or 500 or 1000 people to read, fine.

I had a free but ticketed event tonight that only 7 people could attend because of space. Tickets sold out quickly. People were reminded yesterday. 1 canceled, which is fine, but the other 6 did not cancel and did not show up. I'm not mad, but also am reluctant to give people future opportunities.

Every worker that cuts down every tree, removes sculptures, removes signage... they too are fucking pieces of shit. Fuck all of them. I hope they get diarrhea and it never goes away. I hope their partners cheat on them with their best friends. I hope their kids spit in their food.

I need to update the CV that I never use for anything to explain that I am an artist, a publisher, and a tomato farmer. Here are about 70 more that I picked this morning. They just won’t stop this year.

PUBLISHING BLOG: For my own fiscal care and sanity, if I invoice a store, I like to wait for them to pay before sending them additional inventory. Sometimes things go really well, and stuff sells quickly on their end and they want more, but settle the old invoice first before making a new one.
