There is no legal justification, whatsoever, to use military force against a NATO ally like Greenland. If any military member participates in this without congressional authorization, they are following illegal orders.
I bet Putin advised Trump to take Greenland. "You deserve Greenland like I deserve Ukraine: Let us both take what we deserve." It changes nothing about U.S. security -- we already have access to Greenland and the surrounding seas.
