EVERYBODY'S HOME!!!! god something about the mission commander being last out of the ship really got me. I know it's such a tiny thing but we're just surrounded all the time by leaders who don't give a shit and just like, the symbolism of making sure your people get out first is a lot
I'm quite moved by watching this but also seeing everyone skeeting it feels like old science twitter and that is really nice too

In a preprint (not yet peer-reviewed), scientists have shown that instead of invasive biopsies, they can generate whole genomes for humpback whales by non-invasively sampling their exhaled respiratory vapor or ‘blow’! #2026MMM doi.org/10.64898/2026.03.08.710374

Humpback whales manuever, gulp, & cooperate to successfully bunch & munch their prey (Titova et al. 2026) #2026MMM
Thylacine learned but didn't win #2026MMM but didn't retreat into extiction again so I guess that's a win. Things are complicated.
