Doctoral Researcher in river water temperature

As part of the Diversity Comittee at @slfdavos.bsky.social , I want to celebrate Pride this month: discuss and educate people to make science a better, safer and more inclusive place for queer people. 🌈 How do you make group culture welcoming? How do you make fieldwork accessible for queer peope?

🌈 Unsere Forschung ist so vielfältig wie wir 🍁🍂🌻🪲🌲❄️🌆🐜🪵🌊🌺🪨 Our research is as diverse as we are – Happy Pride!🌈 @slfdavos.bsky.social

Are you working with #watertemperatures in freshwater systems? Are you doing field work, modelling, large-scale analyses, or catchment studies? Are you studying natural and anthropogenic processes governing fresh water temperatures, and their implications on ecosystems and water resources? #egu26

It was really cool getting some advice on my ongoing field study in #Dischmá last week! Planning this field campaign to study #riverwatertemperature is one of the biggest challenges in my PhD so far and I am glad I get some experienced guidance and some new ideas to explore after our discussions!

Last week, James Kirchner, @harshberia.bsky.social and @mfhydro.bsky.social visited us in Davos to discuss the ongoing field study of river water temperature and their study on river isotopes! Thanks for the nice discussions! #dischma @manuelaibrunner.bsky.social @mariagrundmann.bsky.social

It’s nice to be at #EGU25 with people that take science seriously, but it’s also weird to be here when science is under assault in the US. I’m currently in a talk by a NASA climate scientist who wasn’t allowed to attend the meeting and the talk had to be given by a Norwegian colleague. 😩
