anyway, the government function a lot of non-profits satisfy is not the "service" they are purportedly "providing" it's the de-radicalization and co-optation along with the lowering of risk/liability and pension debt and continued exploitation of workers overall

this is the problem. ending the ShotSpotter contract was only half the battle. the other half was being loud and clear about why it was bad and what we should be (and are!) doing instead. and I think that's where MBJ + allies have fallen short
