Getting older and trying to be a good person in Toronto. Quiet pursuits are my thing but I can give you a run for your money in Tears of the Kingdom. Simplicity, massage therapist, ace, childless cat lady.
"I'd never noticed before that we all tended to sit in the same chairs in each other's houses -- staying in character again, I supposed. A lot of adult life consists of staying in character, even when you no longer want to." John Lanchester, Look What You Made Me Do
The classic burger shack in my home town re-opened after a long hiatus. It's one of two places I can walk to easily when I visit my mother in her facility so we can have something besides the inevitable Swiss Chalet delivery. BUT learned the new owner's a racist, conspiracy-loving nutjob so... nope.
"The problem with our parents' generation isn't that they're always trying to tell us what to do, but that they are always and permanently all about themselves. Was there ever a generation so self-centred and so focused on the validity of their own perspective? So oblivious and narcissistic?" ⬇️

Happiness is going to pick up your library hold and discovering the other one just arrived too. #longweekend

The great folks at Old's Cool General Store having big 30% off sale today as having to close for ~2 months due to health reasons. Community-oriented place selling unique gifts, cards, ice cream & other treats. 250 Westlake in east end. #food #Toronto #local
Quick snap of the slightly eerie sun this morning. Looked more like a pastel drawing.
😆
Stopped by the pond at Humber Arboretum to see what wild action was happening today. Heard many frogs but couldn’t see them. Spotted a few turtles swimming, a couple of blue dragon flies, and then noticed this that gave me a chuckle I suppressed so it wasn’t heard on the video. #BikeTO
Jumping in for one day to the #AlphabetChallenge #WeekCForCurves because who could resist this shapely creature?
Not really improving but one shot landed on another, so maybe getting more consistent?! (Nah, total fluke.) I'd forgotten how disappointing it is to visit a large park early on a Monday. Garbage absolutely everywhere after the weekend.
Would the person who keeps setting off fireworks in the park on random nights kindly fuck right off, please.

Sure, you can spend a lot of money on fancy cat toys, but my cat is having a wonderful time right now with a few inches of uncooked spaghetti. #caturday
Fan and air purifier beavering away in my room today. You could just about fly a kite in here.
"As she watched there was a sudden rift overhead, and for a moment through the tattered clouds the sun raced like a wizened orange. It shed a soft, diffused light, dim and yellow as if it were the light from the lamp reaching out through the open door." Sinclair Ross, "The Lamp at Noon"
