When you see a historical marker to a suburban development in the 1950s, you wonder, did they leave out the part about the restrictive covenant? I checked: the pool at the Levittown-inspired Twinbrook in Rockville, Md., was built 6 years after such a covenant was pulled. Whew.

Microsoft is laying off 4,800 workers today. Its CEO made $96.5M in 2025, a 22% increase from the previous year. Microsoft made $101B in net income last year — and raked in up to $12.5B in tax breaks from Trump's Big Ugly Bill. This is what a rigged system looks like.
"Last year, Microsoft made $101 billion in profits, got a $12.5 billion tax break from Trump and paid its CEO $96 million," Sanders said. "This year, it's raising the price of an Xbox by $150 and eliminating 3,200 jobs. Please don't tell me corporate tax breaks create jobs. It never trickles down."
