Have been reading #warhound by @kallidorarho.bsky.social and I was so inspired by the wonderful brutality of this scene between Leinth and Sartha...
Hound and Mutt sortie together for the first time. Hound has the better camera and sensors so it takes point. Mutts job is to watch hounds 6. Shes done a great job so far there training sessions have helped. The radar screams as two units rip through the fog and fire rocket salvos.
The new mutt gets attached to the ace so she can learn the ropes. Hound is staring to get annoyed by the new pilot. she decides to teach her a lesson. A friendly sparing match. hound has years of combat experience and even longer to modify her mech. (it was mostly her tech team) it crushes mutt.
Handler takes a new hound, the ace hound is used as an example. The speed that she follows orders is used to show the new mutt what is expected of her. Hound looks at the new girl and turns her muzzle up at how pathetic the mutt is. Hound resolves to never let the mutt get the better of her.
That feeling of looking up at your handler as she says those words. The ones that pull all those human thought away and locks them in the deepest part of your mind. The emptiness is better then any high and she fills it with the instincts of a hound. Lock, Fire, Re-target. Rip Tear Maim Kill.

They came in!! Warhound is so important to me I just had to have a copy of it on my shelf. @kallidorarho.bsky.social thank you for your work. Its affected me way more then I thought was possible. Unlimited combat dolls is my next read and I am excited to experience @tinylesbianrobot.itch.io writing
I do not want to talk about the urge this series has made me want to drop the name mari and switch to sartha. Shame I'd lose the MJ initials. But like hod this story was so fucking amazing.
