Mom. Leader of the Official Opposition, Ontario NDP. Proud MPP for Davenport.

Northern Ontario is burning. Today, I’m calling for immediate action: ✅ Declare a provincial state of emergency ✅ Remove barriers between jurisdictions so emergency assistance can be provided quickly ✅ Show up: house every evacuee, resource every fire crew, and rebuild every affected community

If you stepped outside today, that haze you're breathing is wildfire smoke. But the real story is up north, where it's coming from. Whole communities evacuated. Families fleeing by boat. Collins First Nation burned to the ground.

Minister Stan Cho lives in Willowdale, just a few subway stops from Queen's Park. No transfer required. He also has a taxpayer-funded car and driver. He still billed the public $16,203 for downtown Toronto hotel rooms.

I am thinking of the two lives lost and others who were injured and traumatized by the violence this evening on St .Clair West, just a short walk from my home. My family and I are safe, but I can’t imagine what the families of the victims are experiencing tonight.

I've asked the Ontario Liberal and Green leaders to join me in calling for a full Auditor General investigation into Ford's $30M jet disaster. The good people of Ontario are looking to us to be united in pursuit of accountability and transparency.

I've called on the Auditor General to investigate the full cost of Doug Ford's $30M jet disaster. The purchase. The outfitting. The resale. The losses. Ontarians deserve to know how much this cost them.

Finally got to meet Deputy Premier, Uzoma Asagwara. What a leader. Thank you for showing the country what an NDP government can deliver on health care: universal prescription birth control, thousands of health care workers hired, ERs and hospitals rebuilt, and patients getting care sooner.

Congratulations to @avilewis, for being elected the new leader of Canada’s NDP! The Canada we’re fighting for lifts people up, brings people together, and builds a future for everyone. That’s what NDP oppositions fight for every day, and it’s what NDP governments deliver.

If I were Premier of Ontario, the first thing I'd do is address the underfunding of our public health care system, our schools, fix Northern highways, and ensure our kids could have a future in this province.    These are the priorities that a government in Ontario should have right now.

Doug Ford is obsessed with Toronto , but he keeps forgetting he’s Premier of the entire province. While he’s busy drawing up plans for a fantasy island, a new convention centre, and even adding jets, people in Northern Ontario are just asking for one thing: fix a single highway. (1/2)

I don’t want my daughters to have to carry pepper spray to feel safe walking home, neither should Doug Ford’s daughters - or anyone’s daughters. If he wants to keep our kids safe, he should look in his own backyard and address community safety as the Premier of Ontario.

At the end of the day, Doug Ford’s FOI changes are all about hiding his cell phone records from the people of Ontario and rewriting the rules to protect himself.   What is he hiding and why is he working so hard to keep it a secret?

🎉🍊Exciting news! Applications are now open for the Ontario NDP Summer Internship Program.   If you’re 18–25 and living in Ontario, this is an opportunity to spend the summer learning how to organize and getting a behind-the-scenes look at how campaigns actually work.  (1/4)

Great to visit the Shreddies facility in Niagara Falls and see firsthand the people and innovation behind Ontario’s food manufacturing industry.   Ontario’s food manufacturing sector supports good local jobs, puts food on the table and keeps our communities healthy. (1/2)

In 1921, they told Agnes Macphail her nomination was a mistake. That she should step aside and let a man do the job. She refused. She became the first woman elected to Canada's House of Commons. She helped build the movement that became the New Democratic Party. (1/2)
