Well I feel crap about myself - wish my mood would remain level…anyway did some painting/ helped me block those negative, ongoing running comments
Today I made a Scottie out of pipe cleaners …took 5 minutes whilst on line at a meeting
It rained - but the dahlias look resplendent. Service user with brain injury has worked hard from seeds & tubers to this! Occupational therapy at its best!
Art room is congested ….but I love being in it & painting - it’s my saviour
Managed to film a hummingbird moth …darting around the back yard …beautiful
Pleased with these - & done relatively quickly - both small ….both approached differently technique wise …chap I used large brushes
I forced my self to use a large brush on this small portrait
Busy doing next paintings - these are small - started yesterday & roughly blocked in - love the challenge of getting it right
Dogs walked & potter around back yard - dead headed & amazed at the beauty of the plants (dahlias remain my favourite). Small things are the best things.
Mixed day - taught on cog rehab in the morning - always do an activity to get them to think about the skills they have used & what it is like to be asked to do tasks- this time it was book designs based on 3 words - then said goodbye to an OT leaving - & then day 4 of my computer not working
Piece of art completed by one of our service users for an exhibition- about their experience of seclusion. Seclusion is there as a protective factor - but also such a restrictive environment can exacerbate further feelings of low self worth. Identity & self worth are so integral to well being.
Had a service user’s poem blown up & printed on material - it covers a double bed! Always keen to look at displaying individual’s identity in different ways.
Added ball - lowered nose & widened head ….always good to leave paintings & go back ..more to do
Well the back yard has survived us being away for a week …some casualties but most have survived - gotta love a chaotic floribunda!
Worth a watch on BBC i player …take heed this is what is happening (& has happened in the 1930s)
Rare I take a photo - but last day of break in Warwick ….
Me & mom portrait ….i have times when i actually physically feel I am my mom and dad..
Using references from an old painting I completed & setting up the composition for the next
Finished portrait of work colleague who is leaving …floral one is for a leaving card - managed to do this relatively quickly …will be doing this as my own business when retired next year ….
