Stephen didn’t just challenge injustice - he compelled others to act. For so many in our movement, he set the standard for what solidarity looks like in practice. His example will continue to guide and inspire us on the road ahead.

This is a heartbreaking loss. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the families, the crews, and our union siblings at ALPA and CFAU, and we honour the courage of the flight attendants and first responders who stepped up when it mattered most. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted.

Working people do not benefit from war, corporate greed, or the violent theft of another nation’s resources. CUPE condemns the U.S. military attack on Venezuela and the kidnapping of its elected leaders, an illegal act driven by profit, not democracy. Canada must stand up for Venezuelan workers.

By invoking 107 of the Labour Code to force an end to this strike, the Liberals are trampling on flight attendants’ Charter rights and handed Air Canada exactly what it wanted. Crushing workers’ rights is not fairness, it is siding with corporate greed and betraying every worker in this country.

The era of airlines making billions off the unpaid labour of flight attendants is in its final days. Flight attendants are standing strong from coast to coast today to tell Air Canada loud and clear: unpaid work won't fly.
“Massacre after massacre is being livestreamed before us. Bombs being dropped on schools, civilian homes and hospitals, and children being dismembered and left ‘with no surviving family,’ is a daily occurrence,” reads the letter.
