Let's talk about writing, books, MN sports, politics, art, science, philosophy, and, most importantly, puns. Living in New England, still feel Minnesotan. Sometimes have fever dreams about Jabberjaw.

Loons have now gone 11 matches without a goal from Yeboah/ Dieng in the run of play. (Yeboah scored 1 pen, Dieng has yet to score for MN.) It’s been almost 1 year since Tani left and the Loons have repeatedly chosen to neglect the striker position. This choice helped torpedo two seasons. #MNUFC

If this is the 4th or 5th most impactful move of the transfer window, fine. Why not? Loons have done so little in the previous windows that they remain in dire need of attacking quality, depth, and promising young players to develop. Clock is ticking as they slide down the standings. #MNUFC

News brief: Former #MNUFC player AZ Jackson returns to #Loons on loan through 2026 season, a @pioneerpress.bsky.social source said Wednesday. www.twincities.com/2026/08/13/f...

If you think a rumored transaction might improve the Loons, the safest bet is to assume it’s bogus. The club had two months between matches to get transfers lined up. Could’ve used the Leagues Cup to get them practice/ playing time. Not easy supporting a low ambition club. #MNUFC

Check-in: #MNUFC supporters should not put much stock in the transfer rumor linking #Loons to 21-year-old Hungarian striker Zsombor Gruber with the club Ferencvaros, the @pioneerpress.bsky.social learned Wednesday.

Loons waited until the games meant absolutely nothing to finally win … and score more than once. goals. But better late than never. Good to see some life from the club. Cam is trolling all of us by playing Padelford at cb. Is it an act of protest vs an absent front office? Scholars debate. #MNUFC

Loons find new lows in offensive futility. Defend well, get worthless pt. Pens were as lopsided as can be. Right now, Smir is diving away from his own water bottle. There will be a slew of quotes about how they “did enough to win.” Miss me with that. Play better. Build a good roster. #MNUFC

Both teams just playing on as a Tigres player is sprawled on the field. Then Tigres honors Jan Gregus by sending a ball rocketing over the goal. Nice gesture. Two leagues drawn together, Jan together, if you will, by shared respect. #MNUFC

Breaking: Loons did not concede in the opening 30 … Loons did not concede in the opening 30. Granted, they still have no idea what to do with the ball and are likely already out of yet another tournament. But we need to give the social media team something to post! #MNUFC

Since the Loons aren’t concerned with improving the team & winning trophies, they’ll need to be creative to keep fans engaged. Akron will allow a fan to script the opening series. Ball is in your half, Loons. Fan playing the 9? Great cost cutting move as well. #MNUFC sports.yahoo.com/articles/akr...

Remember, we must once again survive the news cycle after Dem primaries. These will be the takeaways from too many media voices: 1) The winning candidate (WC) must realize that the win is actually bad news for them. 2) WC can only win in the general if they genuinely discuss issues… 1/

Dreadful half by the Loons. Juarez is not good but they deserve the 2-1 lead. 45 min to show some signs of life. The Loons are a low ambition club with no depth, so I know they aren’t making a true run in this tournament, but I’d like to see a squad capable of decent soccer. #MNUFC

You’ll never guess which cb was beaten cleanly for the goal. Padelford gets torched every time he plays cb and yet, Loons keep putting him out there. Lifeless start by MN, down early once again. Concede early, no coherent attack. Rinse and repeat. #MNUFC

Loons have 1 win in last 9 league matches. 9 total goals scored. People will complain about the pen, but that’s missing the real issue. This attack lacks quality. Just not nearly enough answers on this roster (and/or from the coaches). If LA or Port win, Loons looking up at the WC. Dire. #MNUFC

Loons are going to have to start posting more "dogs running on the field" stories. Getting bleak. Exhausted the "Thank You, James" posts. Down to "Dude On Loan Now On Another Loan" stories. Of course, a solution is to just do their job and improve the team. But ... enough crazy talk by me. #MNUFC

NEWS | The club has extended goalkeeper Wessel Speel’s contract through 2027, with a club option for 2028. Additionally, the club has loaned Speel to Almere City FC of the Eerste Divisie, the Dutch second division, through June 2027. More » https://utd.mn/4yWEHnR

The Loons right now: “So, uh, what is the lowest we can spend? You sure? Can’t go lower? Can we just have fans fill out the bench spots? No? What about the mascot—they are already a team employee? Can we loan out the entire squad and just forfeit?” #MNUFC

Positives: A point, I’ve been told, is more than 0. Loons played very hard and defended with tenacity. Problems: How can this team score? Another night lacking quality with the ball. So many bad turnovers in the 2nd half. The execution on the chances to counter—slow, indecisive. #MNUFC

Loons just had a 3 v 1 and didn’t even get a shot attempt. Almost impossible. That was a gifted chance to steal 3 points. Back to hoping for a scoreless draw. The execution on counters has been bad all night. Just get to the box and … nothing. #MNUFC

Stroud lives. One of the few offseason moves makes his season debut in July. This match is very similar to the Seattle match. Loons came off drubbings vs Van/ Nash and just played defensive, scrappy soccer to get something positive—scoreless draw. 20+ to play and the attack still lifeless. #MNUFC

Loons are playing hard. Not an effort issue. But outside of a set piece, how can this team create even half chances? All very random and hope for the best in possession. Alarm bells should be going off for the front office. Van is down some players which helps—but Loons are defending well. #MNUFC

Loons just can’t get and hold the ball. Last game v Van, Loons turned the ball over repeatedly to Van in their defensive third. So, fearful of that, it’s just long balls and a prayer. But they did create a decent scoring chance through sheer hustle. It may have to be an ugly goal. #MNUFC

Terrible loss. Last 7 league games—1 W, 8 goals scored. At the moment, Loons are just a bad team. No other way to spin it. Thin roster, very little attacking quality, disorganized. #MNUFC

Chancalay just dribbled and dribbled, stopped, then dribbled more until he had ruined any chance of scoring. Actively decreasing any opportunity to make that shot threatening. It’s the whole attack now. Lack of quality, lack of confidence, lack of a coherent plan, and lack of any bench. #MNUFC
