April was Plausible's best month ever. Trial signups increased 84% from January to April. No new feature. No paid ads. No viral post. And traffic increased by only 2%. What changed? We spent a few days simplifying our homepage. Full recap: plausible.io/blog/homepag...

How simplifying our homepage helped increase trial signups by 84%

After simplifying our homepage, trial signups rose 84% while non-logged-in traffic increased by only 2%. Here’s what we changed.

Fun to join the European DIGITAL SME Alliance showcase of trusted marketing tools made in Europe 🇪🇺 We talked about keeping Plausible simple and avoiding the remote control problem of becoming yet another bloated, hard-to-use product. Check it out → youtu.be/xJ9BoZgALN4...

Last week we made Plausible even easier to use: ✅ Change optional measurements and other settings without touching your snippet ✅ Automatically track form completions with zero setup ✅ Use our Tag Manager template to track custom events and dimensions based on GTM-triggers

I've looked at the Plausible dashboard daily for 6 years now and never noticed this tiny misalignment. Our new designer spotted it on day one and fixed it. Going live today with a few other small design tweaks. Fresh eyes!

How our “sales” process works: • Nov 2023: Bigco sends some questions • We reply • 19 months of silence • June 2025: Trial begins • July 2025: They ask for a quote No chasing. Just patience and trust in the product. Sometimes I wonder if a sales team would speed it up or scare them off.

SSO is almost ready! It’s our first feature that feels complicated to use. Not because we’ve changed direction but because it relies on flows outside our control. Let’s see how it goes and whether we can help troubleshoot when things get weird on the identity provider side 🤷‍♂️😬

Wild day at Plausible yesterday. We welcomed our biggest and second-biggest subscribers. The bigger one does a billion pageviews a month 🤯 Crazy to see how far we've come. All without investors, paid ads or sales calls. Thanks to everyone who's supported us on this journey!

I expected that interest in GA alternatives would slow down after the UA to GA4 transition but that hasn't been the case. We hit a record number of trial signups in April (2,237 trials) and Monday was our best day yet (109 trials). One of these trials recorded 200M+ pageviews in the first two days!

Exciting week for Plausible! We launched Saved Segments and Scroll Depth (top 2 feature requests) and made it to 15k subscribers! Thanks for your trust and support! 🙏🙌🥳 (And a reminder that shipping new features doesn't necessarily result in new customers. Don't forget to spread the word as well!)

I suggested an idea to the Gnome Linux team to add a reminder feature that encourages people to take breaks from the screen to help reduce eye strain. Really glad to see that it's about to be included in the next release!

My favorite part of product development is taking early versions of new features and simplifying them by removing all unnecessary elements while preserving their core functionality.

Seth Godin said that an author’s job is to sell the first 1,000 copies of their book. It’s the book’s job to sell the rest. I feel the same way about word-of-mouth and SaaS marketing: the founder’s job is to secure the first 1,000 subscribers. If the product delivers, it will take care of the rest

We’ve started posting on Bluesky and Threads. It’s exciting to see all the buzz. We received three emails this week asking about Bluesky. Let’s see how it goes!
