Easy. The first commercial mobile phone was in 1983. I don't remember when I got my first, but it wasn't then, probably mid 90s. Even from what I remember, things have improved so much it can barely be quantified and described. Fast, big screens, surf-the-Internet power, vids, amazing apps.

Since everyone is doing this: Vintage Port. I appreciate the 1980s were a golden decade for general declarations and secondary years but block planting, advanced meteorological work, temperature controlled lagares & regulatory reform all make it much better today.

1/2 This Finger Lakes winery has been planting Saperavi, a Georgian grape, since the 1960s, expertise hard won! This 2014 is pretty great,spicy, elegant, and aromatic. There's good acidity and big flavor on the finish, blackberries and tart black cherry. It's enlivening and youthful -To part 2 #wine

1/2 This "sur lies" Assyrtiko is a fave off of Santorini, from Evia. Solid in the mid-palate, fresh with a hint of stones, it adds ripe fruit and a tasty finish. It has the concentration to hold up to most typical foods. This is a cut above, not a low-end imitation. In that regard, mid-$30s.
