A good read, and not because of the AI angle. In cases like this, a relevant legal question is when an adjudicator (or judge) may draw adverse inference from an action or omission. In this case, there is a long saga around the student providing the original underlying file for his exam answers.

The saga has morphed from a clear charge of “using AI on an exam” to a murkier fight about railroading, political bias, due process, and discrimination against non-native English speakers.

ABC Vancouver told reporters that the Villages plan was “disrespectful”, that city staff went too far, and that they were protecting residents from the sins of bureaucracy. But who told city staff to come up with a transformative plan? Here’s the receipts.

worth noting that 1) The City of Vancouver decided to cancel all their regular meetings they would have in June so that everyone could enjoy the World Cup 2) City councillors then explicitly said when they returned to council a few weeks ago that they didn't want to work weekends or go into August

Call Unite Here’s efforts filibustering, or foreign interference, but they’ve successfully delayed over 850 city-owned rental homes proposed at the 2400 Motel as there’s simply not enough time for council to hear from #Vancouver residents before the election break #VanRe #VanCre

In spite of its recent "leftish" stint under J Trudeau, the Liberals have often had centre right leaders (e.g. St Laurent, Martin), and the political overlap between the Liberals and the former PCs was large. (Are there any Red Tories left in the Conservative's ranks?)

Canada arguably has a Red Tory party — it just so happens to still be called “the Liberal Party of Canada.” Rachel Gilmore writes. thetyee.ca/Analysis/202...

I expect the VPD weren't asked for the list of officers and their work schedules. Should the public be especially concerned about our own safety on Granville for the next 7 weeks? BTW, are the CCTV cameras that were installed in the "FIFA Zone" still going to be active during these 7 weeks?

VPD statement on how they're spending $1.4 million to police the Granville Strip for seven weeks: "For safety and security reasons the VPD does not disclose specifics about officer deployments in advance or during policing operations. After Labour Day, the VPD will provide a full costing breakdown"
