The sailor cannot see the North but knows the needle can. Full time carer for someone with LongCovid. Cancer survivor. Mostly photographs and thoughts connected to my immediate landscape in the ever decreasing circles of my life.
Odour of Chrysanthemums. I remember how chilling and sad and overwhelmingly realistic I found it when I first read this. Brings thoughts of my grandfather. He wasn’t a drinker, but come payday my grandmother had to get to him before he lost it playing pitch and toss. fullreads.com/literature/o...

A surfeit of apples. Autumn days. More rain. Leaf curl and drop. Apples fallen from overhanging branches onto a back lane. None left to reach up to, grab and sink your teeth into and enjoy that almost explosive pleasure of the apples sharp-fresh-tart-sweet taste. I’ve missed that this year.
Home again, home again, jiggity jig. Let me in, it’s breakfast time.
Leaving the dark hollows of the house before sunrise. Footfall. Watching rain brewing. Dream-swimming. A pause. A still point. No voices just gull cry. A morning in the shadowlands. Weary feet wandering in the darkness that hangs over us before the light brightens and the morning stutters in.
Awake at 4am. So dark! Tilly dog still sleeping and the house silent. The morning breeze lifts the blind. Only one bird singing close by the window. No sounds in the street. A long, slow, stretch before easing out of bed and soft-padding towards the kitchen and coffee.

Disturbed a large garden spider on the door frame this morning. Tilly went snuffling looking for some extra protein (without success). Reminded me of the first encounter my little black shadow had with a spider - (which was also not successful). 🤣

Good morning 🌅 stargazing this morning under a thin sliver of moonlight.
Good morning 🌅… It’s another rainy day, but we’re not in Georgia…
The Earth is also terrible, and dark, and cruel. The rabbit shrieks dying in the green meadows. The mountains clench their great hands full of hidden fire. There are sharks in the sea, and there is cruelty in men’s eyes.

Good morning 🌅 …a very fine misty drizzle filtering through this morning’s velvet dark. (In other words we got wet.)
The first time we saw the far side of the Moon. 67 years ago Today, Soviet spacecraft Luna 3 captured the first ever images of the still unseen side of the Moon.
Got a little distracted after reading @mariapopova.bsky.social post on G.K. Chesterton and The Dandelion. having nothing better to do I have spent a little time trawling through old videos and notes to find this little pamphlet I created a few years ago. Dandelion Dreams. #afternoonwhimsy
“What was wonderful about childhood is that anything in it was a wonder. It was not merely a world full of miracles; it was a miraculous world.”
