I want to live.

It’s taken a long time to realize that—to choose life.

I lost the majority of my twenties to anxiety and depression, I constantly lost control of my life and the direction it was going in. Nothing stuck, nothing lasted. I’ve always felt like this broken person, that there wasn’t a place where I’ll ever belong. I’ve harbored a lot of unease approaching my birthday, because I never thought I’d be here, never thought I’d hit 30. At first, it was a realization that terrified me because I didn’t have anything figured out.

Or so I thought.

All I want to do is live, I want to meet new people and experience things I held myself back from. I want to nurture the relationships in my life. It won’t always be easy, people won’t always stay. But, there will always be people that share parts of my existence—love that will change as I do too.

I’m focusing on finding joy, instead of fixing myself.

And content creation has brought me so much joy. It has brought change and purpose to my life. I sometimes feel a bit like I’m becoming too old for this lifestyle, but through it I’ve found love for myself, love to keep living. I don’t know why I’m even writing this, perhaps there’s an odd part of me that hopes these words will resonate with someone else; choose life.

I’m grateful I’m not alone.
I’m grateful I’m still here.
