“Government should be run like a business” is mostly misguided, but one lesson from business that government should take is that volatile, unreliable behavior makes others less likely to do business with you. Tariffs hurt the economy, yes, but a cycle of threaten, tariff, fold and rescind does too.

It’s tough to take seriously any Senator who votes to confirm Hegseth, Gabbard, Patel, or RFK Jr—and it has nothing to do with politics. Every serious person knows that none of those four are even close to fit for the roles they were tapped to fill.
