I've reached the point in job-application hell where I made the body of my cover letter a bulleted listed, put the key words in bold, & sent it out. It's easier to read, easier to pick out the important bits, & cuts the tedious fluff. Standard format wasn't getting me anywhere, so it's worth a shot
