This book keeps giving me and @stefaniegamarra.bsky.social a lot of satisfaction! After a Kirkus star, being a Foreward Indies Award finalist, winning the Indie Reader Discovery Award and the Ippy Award Gold Medal, we are now finalists for the Kirkus Indie Award! Fingers crossed on this one too!

I often draw these little botanical pictures hanging on the walls of my illustrations, so I thought “why not making them for my house?” #illustration #humanart #collage #kidlit

Having fun with traditional media and collage. Make room for the Fish King! #martapilosioillustration #illustration #kidlit #kidlitart
No judgement if you want to buy your pet, but there are so many animals in shelters waiting for their forever homes! Second pic is the furry wonder and best friend our family adopted many years ago: yes, the house is messier, but our hearts are fuller!
I was recently in Mendocino (for the Murder, She Wrote Festival, Fangela here!), surrounded by cliffs and raging waves. So I literally had to draw this lighthouse amidst a storm! Such a perfect setting for a mystery! 😊 #illustration #kidlitart

It’s been a journey, from the first book I illustrated, to the last, which received a Kirkus star and is now a finalist in the Foreward Indie Book of the Year Awards! Two agents, three books in the submission trenches, and me, who would have never thought I could do something like this in life. ❤️
