Bidston Hill looking very parched today, but clear views over Birkenhead Docks and the Mersey, towards Liverpool City Centre. Home via The Mops, after acknowledging the 10th century Norse Irish Sun Goddess carving. Someone had left her an offering of seashells, which was nice to see.
Impressive #sunset from Woodchurch, Wirral, tonight. There were loads of house martins darting about too, but much too high in the sky for me to capture on my phone camera.
This morning's walk took me through Greasby, Frankby Stiles, RAF West Kirby site, and home via Upton Village.

Today's walk took in the Heswall Dales, Cleaver Heath, which has had some fire damage, then the top path to Thurstaston Village, before finally finishing in Irby.
Today's walk took me from Prenton to Brimstage, then on to explore the public rights of way criss-crossing the Leverhulme Estate's private drives, before finishing at Clatterbridge. Some of the less trodden paths are truly delightful.
#BirkenheadPark today. The juvenile Canada Geese are growing fast, and a young moorhen present there too. The fields look parched, even after some rain, but the trees around both lakes are still very green

Quite a long walk (for me) with my sister today, along the lanes of rural Wirral. My legs are feeling somewhat tired now 🥱😃
This morning's walk took me along Rock Ferry Esplanade, and on to Port Sunlight River Park. Cracking view of Liverpool City Centre from the summit.
Today's walk # Part 2 Thornton Hough to Raby and back. Resisted the temptation to pop into The Thatch and The Seven Stars 😄🍺
Todays walk # Part 1 Clatterbridge to Thornton Hough. Lovely that the footpath went straight through a cornfield.
A teatime walk today, starting off across the fields from Heswall to Barnston. I was made up to see loads of swifts, swooping over the wheat fields, as hadn't spotted any round here previously this year. Followed Prenton Brook through Barnston Dale, then home via Thingwall.
Spotted these sculptures in Warwick Park, Upton this evening. Some bloke who was walking his dog told me they were carved the other year from a 150 year old felled oak tree, to celebrate the park's 90th anniversary. I really like these .... very welcome additions to an already nice place 👍
My sister planted up some pansies in my old mum's side border, which she really enjoys looking at out of her kitchen window I've been around every day during the heatwave to give them a watering, as they had shrivelled right up. I'm quite pleased how they've bounced back from the brink, for her 👍

Too warm to be out in the open this lunchtime, so mostly stayed in the shade of the woods by Arrowe Brook, both in the park, and then on to Harrock Wood. Some magnificent beech trees, offering a welcome cooling canopy. #ForestFriday
Royden Park and Thurstaston Hill on this morning's walk. I'm no expert, but I was surprised that the farmer has planted corn in the same field, two years running? Still .... what do I know about crop rotation? 🤷😄
Hooray! First blackberry pick of the year. Think I'll have them with some chopped apple, topped with crème fraîche 😛
This morning's walk took me from West Kirby to Thurstaston beach, via Caldy Steps and Dee Sailing Club. Absolutely gorgeous weather - hot, but a welcome breeze. However, I'm melting now! 🤣🌞😎
Hooray, the first blackberries ripening in the hedgerow! I'll be out harvesting within a few days 😛 I'm restricting myself to local evening walks at the moment, with it being so hot, and feel so lucky to have the countryside right on my doorstep 👍
