1. My story began where many stories could have ended. Fresh out of my MFA in Fashion Design, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma—a moment that changed everything. In the midst of pain and uncertainty, while fighting the illness, I turned inward. I imagined the story I truly wanted to live.
1. Throwback to 2014, when I visited Lisbon and instantly fell in love with it. During that trip, I created a few sketches inspired by this beautiful city. In February 2015, I uploaded ready artwork to sell online, and later that year, when I moved to Lisbon, I was shocked to see my art everywhere!
It took me years to embrace the new identity as a writer and illustrator. I knew the artist, but the writer was always waiting.Then, I realized: Nobody will give me permission to be who I want to become. Only I can do that. I could talk about this for hours! However, here are my top five. #kidlit
