🍁Grumpy old Canadian lady 🇨🇦

Fierce, mean and nasty Canadian, retired graphic designer and painter, dog person, happily married and opinionated old lady.

Don’t know all the significance of the hijab but I understand wearing one is a woman’s choice, signifying her faith, modesty, and confidence as a woman. I find the hijab to be very beautiful, graceful and classy. Wish I could wear one. No one has the right to attack a woman for wearing her hijab.

I’m a mom/grandmom. Love my kids to the moon and back; love celebrating special days with them. But I have to say, I think the Calgary couple carrying on because they missed getting back for their child’s 2nd birthday by 3 days is way over the top. 2 years old, for heaven’s sake. Postpone the party.

Today was my grandson’s convocation. A tiny, wrinkled, whiskered old man come in with his family, someone holding his hand gently. After the ceremony they stopped in front of me. The graduate showed the old man his diploma and tears ran down the old man’s cheeks as he looked at it. I cried too.

I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind. — John Diefenbaker
