At a pho place, after a very long day… Daniel to me: there’s a pitcher of water next to us. Me back: what? Did you say there’s a photo of a pigeon next to us??? Sadly, there was no photo of a pigeon. But we were able to look up photos of pigeons on our phones. You can too!

My brain’s usual overriding algorithm — if you hear Star Trek related words, that’s exciting and worth attention — does not work very well at this gigantic Star Trek convention. I keep hearing Star Trek related words from every direction, and my brain is overloading.

Also, this year’s anniversary is a new high score! I thought we had been married for quite a few years on our last anniversary, but… We managed to top that! This year we have somehow managed to be married EVEN LONGER than last year! Hard to believe but true.

Things I have found GPT to be unquestionably better about than Claude: -discussing movies -doo-wop (like actual doo-wop, not just songs in general, but specifically the doo-wop parts of songs) This list may say more about my interests than the models' relative strengths.

I’ve got two wildly different books up for pre-order right now… The eighth book in the TRI-GALACTIC TREK CHRONICLES comes out in August, and then the third book in the XENO-SPECTRE trilogy comes out in September. Though, I will have some early copies for sale at WorldCon!

This series is pretty neat. It has everything: Sci-fi, horror, space opera, found family, uplifted cats and dogs, lizard aliens, a central trans character, a life form with a unique lifecycle, sentient spaceship, ruins upon ruins, moth like aliens, the destruction of a space station, and weird food.

Cover reveal! My Xeno-Spectre trilogy was inspired by a long-standing desire to see a home world of the Xeno-morphs from Alien. So, I made my own terrifying parasitic aliens, wrote two books setting them up… and finally this! Out on 9/1/26 and available for pre-order now!

Eight years ago, I was writing a book mildly inspired by my time in college. Then it got interrupted by selling a book to a publisher on the promise of making it a trilogy ASAP… followed by the pandemic… followed by the chaos of my other publisher dropping me over AI…
