Tomorrow, August 1st, prosecutors in Minnesota will no longer be able to charge children under 13 with criminal offenses. These children are in elementary school and are rarely ever competent to be prosecuted. Now they will get the support and services they need more quickly

We were able to charge these sexual assault cases is because of the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative and the courage of these women. Our team did some remarkable detective work, while the BCA tested the DNA. This initiative allows us to seek justice in older cases and prevent other sexual assaults.

Today we announced a milestone in our investigation into the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, and the shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis. We have exchanged evidence on all three cases with the US Attorney’s Office here in MN. We are going through the voluminous evidence we received right now.
