My lab works on Alzheimer disease (AD), the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. While this administration seeks to slash biomedical research to the tune of 4 billion dollars a year, the healthcare costs associated with AD treatment alone is projected to exceed $1 trillion by 2050.
My heart goes out to the folks at NIH and other agencies who are losing their jobs today.
