Government’s education statistics “seriously flawed”
There are “serious flaws” in the way the UK Government measures educational performance, according to a new study led by Professor John Jerrim at the UCL Social Research Institute.

In the light of recent announcements, I reckon you could do this for some 14-16 GCSEs as well

If government are after parity of esteem for vocational quals, the process could be kickstarted by rebadging some A levels as V levels - for instance: Engineering, Business Studies, Law, Psychology, D&T, maybe some of the art subjects like Graphic Communication, etc
Fast-track courts to deal with the leaking of papers, we could do with those here

I’d have a pilot digital exams body (could be a division of an exam board, or collaboration) and the keen schools/students could opt in, aware of all the dangers. Run exams in April/May so students could also sit the later paper versions as insurance. Best result counts! www.tes.com/magazine/new...
