35 years ago today ROBIN HOOD PRINCE OF THIEVES was released in theaters. Accent or no accent, it’s the blockbuster version of Robin Hood I’ve always enjoyed the most. Alan Rickman is devouring scenery at every turn. And Michael Kamen delivers one of his most iconic scores (Hello, Morgan Creek).

If I had a nickel for every Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Hollywood Pictures movie featuring George Dzundza & released in the summer of 1995 I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s cool that it happened twice.
When I talk about the supporting cast of a film being a murderers’ row, TWISTER (1996) is always exhibit A.
30 years ago today TWISTER was released in theaters. Jan de Bont‘s worthy follow up to SPEED is a spectacular blend of digital & practical FX anchored by a 5 star character actor kill squad. One of my top 3 PSH performances & the movie that finally made Bill Paxton the leading man. We’ve got cows!
