feel a bit like I'm actually becoming part of a few communities at the moment and it's a great feeling. semi-decent electronic music, middling photographer, aspiring comedian. and I think getting sober (4.5 years now) and getting an autism diagnosis and a better understanding of myself have been key

some test shots of an empty cinema. i have wanted to shoot one for ages, but they said I only had 9 minutes before the next screening started so I was a bit rushed. need to think more about what i actually want to try and capture before i go back for round 2 #sheffield #photography #cinema

rows on cinema seating from behind and looking downwards. the chairs are all orange and turquoise but the colours are a blown out from the flasha close shot of an orange cinema seat. there are several rows of seats behind drifting away in a diagonal pattern.cinema seating from the floor area at the front. there are lots of seats disappearing into the darkness due to the camera flash. side on cinema seats. the turquoise colour of the closest seats is quite blown out. the symmetry of the chairs is fairly interesting to me, and the intermittent nature of the tables.

there was some fun stuff on this weekend to look at. went to the park at midnight on saturday to try some long exposure shots of the "small park, big run" event, and then on sunday there was the krazy races charity kart race thing. #sheffield #photography

long exposure photography showing an ascending path in meersbrook park that is temporarily illuminated with lots of wicker lantern, and other twinkling sorts of, lights. there is a ghostly image of a volunteer marshall, i think, progressing up the hill.long exposure photography in meersbrook park capturing the light illuminated by a runners torch as they proceed downhill. there is a long light trail jagging across the middle of the image as you would associate with long exposure photography.a close-up, angled photo of go-kart with a potentially papier mache'd badger head attached. you can also see the driver who has a fuzz covered helmet. it is racing in sheffield in the krazy races charity event.a go-kart in the shape of Ecto-1, the ghostbusters car, crossing the finish line at the krazy races charity event in sheffield. the track is lined with hay bales and the kart is emitting a long red trail from an onboard flare. the flare smelt disgusting-like a giant match but worse.

i did some photography at a different comedy night than the one i usually do. so there was a different lighting set up to contend with and although i felt i didn't nail i think i did alright overall. they said i am welcome to go back if i want, at least. #photography #sheffield

photo of a comedian on stage. they are wearing a white jacket and top combo which threw the metering off.photo of a comedian sat down on stage, holding a microphone, and wearing an elaborate hawaiin-esque shirt. he has one finger extended on the hand that isn't holding the microphone as he was talking in detail about getting his prostate checked. the crowd vetoed him shortly after this and he had to leave the stageone of the comperes of the event. they are wearing a crown and an orange fluffy, furry coat/jacket thing.

My latest for @nowthenmag.bsky.social. I went to meet the new delivery robots. "I hate the machines, but not in a negative way. I find a lot of joy in it. If you hate me (a person with a soul) for hating a machine (inanimate) then you might actually be toxic." nowthenmagazine.com/articles/why...

Why Do I Hate The Delivery Robots?

Full conscription into the machine war has expanded to Sheffield. I went to meet our mechanical overlords in Meersbrook Park.
