Dancesport Is Life

I run DigitallyDownloaded.net. Published author, soon to be a game developer too: Check out The Last Waltz when it releases early 2026 (I hope)!

Oh for fuck's sake. This is exactly the same red fucking brick road Twitter went down. Just once it would be nice for a CEO to come to the (correct) conclusion that the liberals are the furthest right wing a social media platform should tolerate and actually we need to be taken over by communists.

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

Note: What they mean about that has nothing to do with "culture" or the community of the office. In exactly 100% of cases, when a CEO is "concerned" that employees are not there for "the mission," they mean "they're not working 120 hour weeks!"

Its embarrassing how many grown ass adults live in these fantasies where people work for some nonsense like the artificial cultures oligarchs manufacture over survival.

Dumbass CEO of Anthropic thinks people should work for the "corporate mission" over survival.

The kind of utter bullshit we get out of the Labor party. I emailed (and then followed up) my local MP about the heinous costs they put on permanent residents and partners, including a 3x increase to the return visa, and this template crap is what I get back. Can't even be arsed addressing my issue.

Here's Australia's Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, casually insulting the Prime Minister of Japan via a "joke" that is both sexist AND racist. The rest of the world thinks Australia is a backwater of classless bogans (derogatory). Moments like this is why. www.japantimes.co.jp/commentary/2...

Sanae Takaichi: The prime minister nobody defended

Anthony Albanese’s melon joke revealed which women leaders the world feels safe mocking.

Wait you mean that the most memorable, interesting, creative and exciting video games are those that are made as works of art rather than corporate content that has been manufactured to the same best practice corporate content products? Perish the thought!

Shigeru Miyamoto says the games that resonate most with players all around the world aren’t those deliberately designed for global appeal, but those based on a developer’s personal interests. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/miyamot...

It still pops up from time to time, BTW. "Weird Japan" or "Tee hee the Japanese are So QUIRKY" with the Yakuza series, for example. Or when they slam Japanese games for "representation" because that word means something different outside of America. It's all racism.

I genuinely think we’d be in a better place right now if English gaming media could’ve flushed all the casual racism towards Japanese art out of its system by 2010 or so. Instead everyone just saw the rise of AAA western games as a means to double down on that shit

Book one finished! This is a three book collection that dwarfs Lord of the Rings (LoTR is 1100 pages, this is 1700). It’s a true historical epic by my favourite author of all time. So glad to finally read the whole translation for the first time.
