Trump is set to make a speech shortly about the 2020 election. I'm currently in Rapid City, SD, for the annual summer conference of secretaries of state, where, among other topics, they are discussing midterm plans. I asked a few about Trump's speech tonight. Here's what they told me:

Alright, next session at the National Association of Secretaries of State conference, which is all about election security for the midterms, which, yeah, a lot of people are obviously worried about for a myriad of reasons.

An afternoon session of panels w/ secretaries of state from Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, and West Virginia is about to kick off. Among the topics that will be discussed include presentations on empowering student voters and election guidance for law enforcement.
