Ultimately the people who insist that art be sexless are also the ones that want it to be lifeless. Unless you're really committed to only doing the most anodyne, inoffensive pap imaginable this isn't a road you want to go down regardless of your interest in sex, specifically, as a theme.

I don't love these kinds of "if they're coming for them they'll come for you" type of arguments. I think you should defend and take solidarity with sex workers for *their* sake first. But it does mean that it is *dumb* for one of us engage in anti-SW rhetoric or reinforce puritanical talking points.

it was easier for us to remember this a few centuries ago when actors very literally had the same social status as prostitutes, but it has never not been true. control over sexuality/sex work, control over speech/expression, and economic control over artists are all bound up in one another.

if you are any kind of creative or artist or writer you *have* to understand sex workers and porn/erotica artists/authors as being members of the same class as us. to the extent society recognizes a difference between "legitimate" art and porn, it's only as a tenuous, convenient, temporary fiction.

In Wario Land 4, a single syllable of the Palm Tree Paradise vocals ("ni~") is stored in a higher quality than anything else in the files. In fact, it is stored at a quality too high for the GBA to even play back, making this completely inaudible on original hardware.
