I played an Amplitude game last night (Endless X, you know the ones). After a while it was clear I was trailing behind all the AI. Seven hours later, after fighting for my life, I was still trailing behind the AI, and gave up because there was nowhere left to go and I was just waiting out an AI win.
I see they're trialling new names for the US president that Trump may find easier to remember.

Dev ops for indies: can't download TeamCity without starting a trial of the pro version (which I could never afford). Can't start a trial without providing a 'work e-mail address'. Yahoo is not considered a work e-mail address. Now I have to set up a mail server or mail redirection... sigh

Today I am helping my son get to Poole on the railway, and I am just so, so distracted by the official station code (3 letters). I am 51.
5am, lying awake with the light on. A third mosquito buzzes me, and I score a hit. This one was ripe, and iron-tangy blood is smeared across my hand. I don't know where they breed in heatwave-parched London, but my top floor flat has been infested for weeks. Not loving it, if I'm honest.
FFS, the frequency of adverts on Youtube is now unbearable. Congrats on enshittifying another thing in another way.
Try to make sure your casual gamer friends, or core/hardcore ones who assume that sales just weren't enough to keep employees, are seeing coverage like this I'm finding that the masses truly just don't always see the dissonant reality: that there's PLENTY of profit but wages are straight up stolen!

Your reminder that the sectors of UK industry producing copyrighted work are tremendously profitable, good for UK balance of payments, and in need of protection. Gen AI companies burn money, burn the planet, and shit on the first group. Naturally the UK government is prioritising the second group.

I love that SMS texts are trying to stay current, and if you select a 'like' emoji on a text you receive, it will send a message to the other person saying (literally) "liked <message content>". Maybe just stick to what you're good at (semi-functional message channel when mobile Internet is down)
