Writer of things. Lover of Batman, Stephen King, Tom Petty, John Carpenter, the Coen bros., and general nerd stuff. Mostly I collect stacks of movies and books. Physical media forever. I have over 1,200 4K discs now. I might need help.

My MARS ATTACKS! 4K arrived from Gruv, once again from the absolutely bizarre UniUni delivery service, which gets worse every time. Checked both my front and garage door several times each before realizing they had tossed it on the bed cover of my truck out in the driveway.

The basement's drywall is all fixed and everything has been painted. Now I'm just waiting to hear about when flooring can get done, and then the baseboards/trim/doors. I would really like my main living space back.

Now would be a good time for the NFL to undo their idiotic deal with EA and open the football video game market back up to some competition. Madden has already sucked for years, but AI-designed Madden from an openly fascist company? No thanks.

You think at some point Eli Roth would maybe accidentally direct a good movie, but it hasn't happened yet. THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS is as close as he ever came and I don't see that happening again.

Having sat on it for a few days, it's time to rank the Spider-Man movies I've seen theatrically: 1. BRAND NEW DAY 2. SPIDER-MAN 2 3. SPIDER-MAN 4. INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE 5. NO WAY HOME 6. FAR FROM HOME 7. HOMECOMING 8. ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE 9. SPIDER-MAN 3 10. AMAZING 1 11. AMAZING 2

It's very funny to me that the lesson Marvel took away from NO WAY HOME was "audiences love the old casts!" and not "audiences love good stories!" Now BRAND NEW DAY is demolishing box office records without nostalgia plays and the next AVENGERS movie doesn't have Spidey but does have old Fox shit.

It's very odd to me that someone would aggressively rip into someone's abilities as a writer and savage their work for the sin of making a billion dollar adaptation of an ancient poem, especially when the person you're attacking has repeatedly praised you in public.
