The last thing anyone is interested in seeing is the Dolan family celebrating.
All of this. It you want starters working deeper into postseason games -- and most do -- the solution is to make the series look more like the regular-season schedule. Schedule that seven-game series over eight days, and teams won't be pulling starters after allowing one run in three innings.
I'll bury this at 3 a.m.... MLB is apparently proposing adding off days to the postseason calendar, so as to increase pitcher rest.
Why do teams get twice as many managerial challenges in the postseason but the same number of ABS challenges?
I was also curious how that one day got to 106 percent.
The FS1 broadcast just talked about their "series predictor" odds sponsored by Polymarket. I would like to buy the Brewers at 56% to win this series they lead 2-0, please:

Grant Taylor made seven pitches. Five became hard-hit balls, but four were outs. As many hard-hit balls as the Guardians had the rest of the game combined.
Jo Adell's fly was hit 108.2 mph and 32 degrees. Over the last three years, there were 39 balls hit at 108-109 mph and 32 degrees. 36 were homers.
Odd not to see the MLB leader in RBI here. Alec Burleson also had a better OPS than Stewart or Walker.
Elly De La Cruz and Sal Stewart of the #reds are finalists for the Hank Aaron Award.
Everyone assuming that Chris Sale would have started Games 2/5 if not for the relief appearance is ignoring that he hadn't worked on four days' rest since Apr. 6. And that would have been two straight on four days. Sale at 100% in Game 3 and in pen in Game 5 might have always been their best play.
That ball was hit with a 49-degree launch angle. I'm not promising it was staying in play, but it wasn't going as far as the broadcast booth seems to think.
That ball from Tommy Pham was 106.1 mph off the bat with a 31-degree launch angle. There were 25 balls in the regular season hit 106-107 mph at a 31-degree launch angle. All 25 were homers. 24 went at least 390 feet. Pham's went 366 feet. Casey Schmitt had one 370 feet, but HR anyway.
Spencer Jones busted his butt to get to first base on a strikeout/wild pitch, opened the door for a six-run inning. Bryce Harper did not.
Meaningless but fun: Sean Manaea threw 150 2/3 innings while making fewer than 20 starts (19) this year. The last four pitchers to throw more innings while making fewer than 20 starts: Johan Santana in 2003 Tim Wakefield in 2002 Tim Wakefield in 2001 Tim Wakefield in 2000
Ignoring strike years/2020... .316 average is lowest to lead the majors ever 45 homers is lowest total to lead the majors since 2014 116 RBI is lowest total to lead the majors since 2014 119 runs scored is lowest total to lead majors since 2014 40 doubles is lowest total to lead majors since 1972
Sometimes I freak out after one of these top-story blurbs go out on social media... Kade Anderson is a left-hander, right? Of course he is. I've seen Kade Anderson pitch several times. And I'm certain he was throwing left-handed while doing so. Almost completely certain.
X-rays negative on Kade Anderson's left arm
I was out this afternoon, but watching Verlander now and this is one of the ultimate, most unexpected final performances of all-time... ...from Laz f'ing Diaz. Going 4-for-4 on challenges and then taking over the game once the strike zone was his and his alone. Just a master troll. Bravo.
In general, I get that it's very hard to enforce the rule that a batter has to make an attempt to avoid a HBP for it to count as a HBP. Maybe just this once, though?
Seth Halvorsen loses his footing and rolls the ball to the plate, but the ball is live and goes for a HBP, lmfao.
This is obstruction. Where is Acuña supposed to go here?
Payton Tolle one pitch before completing an immaculate inning.

Not sure I've ever seen a pitch this far off the plate get swung at. Congratulations, Jose Siri. Even Javier Báez is impressed.
Yikes. Everyone is staying in the game for now, though. Cooper Pratt's arm there seemed to take the worst of it.
