I recently learned of the passing of Jonny Smallwood. That news devastated me. I sadly never had the pleasure of meeting Jonny. But his work on mind-wandering was as impactful as anyone’s on the trajectory of my own research and career. I wish I could have told him as much.
Our latest is now out at JEP:General, “Quiet Eyes: Visual gaze stability predicts intra- and interindividual variability in attention control.” psycnet.apa.org/doi/10.1037/... (Abstract below)
Another tenure/TT open-rank position is open in Developmental Neuroscience! apply.interfolio.com/171158 Deadline is also Sept. 15

Today the Notre Dame CAMLab (Stephen Campbell, Lauren Garner, and I) are headed to County Kildare, Ireland, to attend SARMAC 2025. I have a talk Thurs afternoon on the positive effect of performance feedback on free recall.
I'm excited to give the keynote at the Symposium for Individual Differences in Cognition (11/20). Thanks for the invite! I'm esp. honored to be able to give this talk in Denver (I live in CO). If you're planning to attend Psychonomics, please consider coming one day earlier & attending SIDIC, too!
I am delighted to report that SIDIC, the Symposium for Individual Differences in Cognition, will return in 2025 as a Psychonomics affiliate meeting, & Akira Miyake will deliver the Keynote address. Submissions will open 6/15-8/1; please consider joining us! Info: caliberlab.wixsite.com/sidic2025
