Every time a new Phoebe Bridgers album comes out I hear that first single and think ‘ah, yep, like this’. Then I listen to the full album. Why can’t I be cool and like the dreary songs.🥲

Watched I Saw The TV Glow, was a weird enjoyable time, but the ‘baddie’ was giving me major Mighty Boosh flashbacks.
Read a book not too long ago where it was supposed to be a reveal who a serial killer was. Turned out it was the guy acting like a scary monster killer in the first chapter. Would never have guessed.
You do read some books that all the same gaggle of reviewers rave about and wonder what on Earth it is they’re talking about.
Now I let the draft sit for a bit, and in the meantime I get to work finishing my horror novelette. 🕺
I’v just hit THE END on my fun murder mystery novel. The first long work I’ve been able to finish in yeeeaaarrrsss.

I’m up to the chapter in my murder mystery where I reveal the killer. 🫨
What happened to US sitcoms like Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, Arrested Development? Superstore feels like the last one I saw. Are they still made but we don’t get them? Seems to be all 10 ep light comedy things with big stars on streaming services these days, like Shrinking.
I’m pushing through because I want to finish, but good lord is the main characters first person narration repetitive. Could’ve trimmed a lot. A book from an author who is massively popular in the current horror fiction world, too.
Books where the main character is all miserable and recounting how terrible their life has been and they hope to die soon and then, wouldn’t you know it, things actually get worse as the story kicks in. Bit much. Maybe a little light and shade to start. This isn’t an emo record.
I miiiight finish writing this first draft this week. It’ll be more or less done, at least.
My three year old just patted me on the belly and said ‘Hello there, big fella.’ Might be time to cut back on the biscuits.
Well, blocked someone on here for the first time. ‘Actors taking the dirty Potter cash are shitty- shitty people’ is apparently not a strong enough sentiment for them. Enough to try and start a pile on.

Will hit 60000 words in next few days, the aim is to keep it relatively short so I’m basically in the downhill slope at this point. Will finish this first draft then let it sit for a month, during which I want to quickly knock out a horror/fantasy novelette that I will put through my micro press.
I think I might be done with the first draft of my fun murder mystery novel in a months time. 🙌
Last ep of Dr Who was only on a little over a year ago, but it feels like much longer. The Gatwa era was at least five years back.
I may be old but OMG. Elastica’s debut was the first album I ever bought with my own money. And still an absolute banger.
Heard something about trans people on the radio and realised I haven’t heard anything about that turd wrapped in human skin Linehan in months. Maybe even all year.

Latest book read. A few unexpectedly squirm inducing moments for a Hendrix novel.

Why does Jared Leto even still get big movie roles. Constant allegations, plus no one seems to like him. He’s not a movie star. No one raves about his performances. He pulls nothing to a project. What’s the thinking behind casting the dead eyed tool.
New Max Porter Alert. 🚨 He has a new book out early next year. Lanny is one of my all time fave books so always interested in what he does: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/057140292...

‘Should you quit your job to write?’ If you’re loaded already, yes. That is the only yes answer to that question.
People who wheel a bike onto the tube. You have a bike. Use the bike. Get that thing outta my way.
Saw a book tube vid labelled ‘controversial horror book recommendations’, as in many people would not agree this is good, and it featured Come Closer by Sara Gran. 😵💫
Lotta Homer experts out there suddenly ready to unleash a snooty take.
Feels a little tragic at this point that we’re still getting all these superhero movies.
Stop with the scary clowns in horror stories challenge.
What if we score a goal and the do nothing? Seems like a sound plan.
Just saw a new short story collection announced with stories from over thirty different authors. Who ever reads these giant things..?..? Let’s pull it back a lil bit.
