Partly cloudy and 82 for Tarik Skubal’s 1st start at Wrigley. Get in the door for 5 1/3 Tiger Rolls from Ukai Sushi on Belmont, just a 13 minute walk from Wrigley; bleachers for 8 1/3 Tiger Rolls; all you can eat/drink seats for 22 Tiger Rolls. Go get ‘em tonight, fellas.

Just got off the plane and the woman who was sitting behind us told me “Your kids were so well behaved!” And as a parent of two young kids, there is no higher compliment you can get after a 2 1/2 hour flight.

Me: “I’m surprised there’s not more merchandise from the local minor league team at this airport.” My wife: “That’s because nobody is more interested in minor league baseball merchandise than you in this airport.” She’s got a point. Saturday morning in Fort Myers.

My toddler is currently running around in circles in our living room singing "Go Cubs Go," to which she knows all the words of the chorus, and I have never been prouder in my life.

Sat down on the recliner in my toddler’s room this morning and she immediately came over, dropped three books on me, and hopped in my lap and I’m gonna take this as a sign I’m doing something right as a parent.

Every extremely online/not online couple this morning is having some variation of the “Hey babe, major political news overnight.” “McConnell?” “No no, different Senator.” conversation this morning.

Justin Verlander is retiring after 21 years of playing a game while wearing glorified expensive pajamas to work and never has to work another day in his life and ya know what, good for you man.

My kids both slept in (slept in being a relative term), the youngest is sleeping on me now, I’ve got a fridge full of cold beer, I drank an entire cup of coffee WHILE IT WAS STILL WARM, and we don’t have anywhere to be today. I don’t have to see a single firework and today rules.

Not official but given how hard it’s currently raining by the ballpark, I’d plan on today’s Cubs game starting in a delay. Find a bar, get cozy or just stay home for another hour or so
